I'm Ready for the 'Darkness'

Ever since Robert Crais' new novel, Chasing Darkness, was announced, I've been re-listening to the entire Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series of (unabridged) audiobooks in preparation for it. In order. Finally finished The Watchman this morning on the drive into work. Now, I'm ready to dive in, and I'm so looking forward to reading the latest in my favorite book series.

Of course, when I'm done with it, there will be the inevitable depression of not having a Crais book to immediately look forward to--but the author has promised a new Joe Pike for next year. Still, I expect to delve more deeply into the Jack Reacher and Harry Bosch series to console myself ;-).

  1. Woo Hoo! Me too! My sister is sending me my autographed copy soon...I hope! :) And like you, I'll be bummed when I finish it...probably in one day! But, Michael Koryta has Envy the Night coming out Aug. 5th and then Alafair Burke has Angel's Tip on Aug. 19th and somewhere around the end of August will be Kathy Reich's Devil Bones so I'll find consolation there and in the myriad of unread books I have waiting! LOL Happy Reading!!

  2. Jen, I should have mentioned that I'm also including Koryta's 'Tonight I Said Goodbye' (yes, I like to start with the first book) for a summer's read based on your wonder interview of the author. I'm also going to drop an email to some audiobook publishers to see why none of them have snapped up the rights to his books. This guy seems so promising and they should be his getting his content to the audiofiles. Keep up the good work.

  3. I so agree. I would love to have his books on audio!!!

And BTW, I MUST read books in order, too! So glad you're checking him out. He's fabulous. You'll notice a lot of RC's influence on him in Tonight. I hope you like it. Let me know...
